Overview
Scanning that does more than produce a list
Vulnerability scanning uses automated tools to check your networks, servers, applications and other digital assets for weaknesses such as outdated software, misconfigurations and potential routes in. It is a foundation of any serious security programme, and an essential companion to periodic penetration testing.
The trouble is that raw scan output still needs someone to interpret it, filter out the noise and decide what matters. Our fully managed, human-led service takes that work off your team's plate. We set up and run the scans, our analysts review the findings, and you receive prioritised results with practical remediation advice.
The service is delivered in partnership with Rootshell Security, a CREST and CHECK accredited provider, so you benefit from accredited specialists and tooling without the overhead of building it in-house.

What's included
What's included
A complete scanning programme, from configuration through to expert-reviewed reporting.
Full coverage, all year
Regular, intelligence-driven scans of your infrastructure that scale as your estate grows and fill the gaps between annual penetration tests.
Reputation and deny-list checks
We check whether your infrastructure appears on bad-reputation lists or deny-lists, which can signal compromise or affect deliverability.
Analyst-reviewed findings
SOC analysts review results to strip out false positives and non-issues, and assign each finding a meaningful risk rating.
Dedicated consultant
A named consultant supports you from setup to reporting and is on hand to advise on remediation.
Real-time reporting
Results appear in a central dashboard alongside your penetration testing and attack surface data, including reports from other vendors.
Broad vulnerability coverage
Scans look for misconfigurations, unpatched software, encryption weaknesses, weak credentials, injection flaws and broken access control or authentication.
How it works
Getting started
-
Understand your needs
Share your security requirements with us and we will follow up to explore your environment, goals and constraints.
-
See the platform
We walk you through a tailored demonstration of the vulnerability management platform your results will live in.
-
Onboard smoothly
Existing vulnerability data can be imported, and we shape the service around your risk appetite, team objectives and budget.
-
Scan and review
Scheduled scans run across your agreed scope, with every set of results reviewed by our analysts before it reaches you.
-
Remediate with confidence
You receive prioritised findings and practical guidance, and we alert you when new issues appear.
Benefits
The benefits of a managed approach
Constant surveillance
Regular scanning means you are alerted to new issues as they are discovered, not months later.
Less noise
Manual review by consultants removes false positives, so your team spends time fixing real problems.
Freed-up internal resource
Automation and specialist support let your people focus on business-critical work instead of running scanners.
Spend where it counts
Tailored recommendations help you prioritise the assets that matter most and make the most of your security budget, with new tools added at no extra licence cost.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is managed vulnerability scanning for?
It gives you ongoing visibility of the known weaknesses in your systems without your team having to run and interpret scans themselves. We handle the tooling, review the output and tell you what needs fixing first.
How does scanning differ from penetration testing?
Scanning is automated and designed to find known weaknesses quickly and repeatedly. Penetration testing is a manual exercise in which testers simulate a real attack to see how far your defences can be pushed. The two work best together.
Which assets can you scan?
We can scan external and internal networks, servers, endpoints, web applications, cloud environments and network devices. Scope is agreed with you during onboarding.
How often should scans run?
Monthly or quarterly scanning is typical, with additional scans after significant changes to your environment. High-risk or regulated organisations often benefit from scanning more frequently.
Will scanning disrupt our systems, and does it help with compliance?
Scans are designed to be non-intrusive to normal operations. The reporting also supports compliance with standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS and GDPR.
